| Deneva is one of the Confederation's major commercial and industrial centers, and has a representative on the Confederation Council. Founded on SD236401.01 by Alpha Centaurans, Deneva served as a ship repair and resupply center in the Romulan War. After the war, numerous Human and non-Human settlers joined the Centaurans. Deneva has come to be regarded as a symbol of the Confederation, a monument to the cultural advantages made through interracial cooperation. Its rich variety of minerals supports a vast metallurgical-industrial base. Two decades ago, Deneva's population was decimated by hundreds of flying parasites, but recent census figures show signs of recovery. Current population estimates are between 4 and 4.5 million. | |
